A tent with open sides is great on a sunny afternoon. But the moment the wind picks up, the temperature drops or a shower rolls in off the bay, sidewalls turn a covered space into a real room. If you are searching for an enclosed tent rental in Southern Maryland, the first decision after the tent itself is which sidewall style fits your event.
Tri-County Tent Rentals offers optional sidewalls for every tent we rent. Here is how the three styles compare and how to choose.
Solid White Sidewalls
Solid white walls give you the most coverage. They block wind, keep rain out and create a private, finished feel, which makes them a good fit for events where you want to control the look of the space or keep the outside world out of view.
Best for: windy sites, events near a road or parking lot, cold-weather parties and any event where privacy matters.
Cathedral Window Sidewalls
Cathedral window panels add a classic, elegant look and let natural light into the tent. They suit weddings, receptions and dinners where you want the tent to feel dressed up rather than utilitarian.
Best for: weddings, anniversary dinners and any event where the tent walls are part of the design.
Clear Panoramic Sidewalls
Clear panoramic walls protect your guests while keeping the view. In Southern Maryland that often means water, farm fields, gardens or a tree line, and a lot of our clients are hosting at exactly those kinds of venues. Clear walls also let the glow from chandeliers and string lights show through at night.
Best for: waterfront and scenic venues, evening receptions and events where the backdrop is part of the experience.
Can You Mix Styles?
Many hosts do. For example, you might use solid walls on the side that faces the wind or the road and clear or cathedral window panels on the side with the view. Tell us about your venue during your free on-site inspection and we can talk through what makes sense.
Sidewalls and Heating
If you plan to rent a tent heater, we strongly recommend sidewalls. Heat escapes through open sides, so walls help keep your guests comfortable. Read more in our guide to heated tent rentals in Southern Maryland.
Sidewall FAQs
Are sidewalls available for every tent?
Yes. Optional sidewalls are available for all of our tents, including frame tents and pole tents.
Do sidewalls keep out rain?
Sidewalls help protect your guests from rain and wind. Heavy storms are a different matter, so always watch the forecast and have a plan in place. See our tips on rain, wind and storm planning for tent events.
Will a tent with walls feel dark?
Not if you choose the right style. Cathedral window and clear panoramic walls let light in during the day, and lighting such as chandeliers, string lights and bistro lights keeps the space bright at night.
Can I add sidewalls to a sailcloth tent?
Our rental page states that optional sidewalls are available for all tents. Call us at 240-434-1465 to confirm the options for the tent you have in mind.
