FRAME TENT RENTALS

Frame Tent Rentals in Southern Maryland

When you need a versatile, professional-grade tent that works on virtually any surface and leaves the interior completely open, a frame tent is your answer. Tri-County Tent Rentals offers frame tent rentals throughout Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia, with sizes and configurations to fit everything from an intimate backyard gathering to a large outdoor reception.

What Is a Frame Tent?

A frame tent is supported entirely by an internal aluminum frame structure — there are no center poles required. That means every square foot of the interior is usable space, giving you complete freedom to arrange tables, chairs, a dance floor, a buffet line, a bar, or a stage exactly the way you want without working around any obstructions.

Frame tents also have a major practical advantage: they don't require stakes driven into the ground. This makes them ideal for events on hard surfaces like driveways, parking lots, patios, and concrete pads where a traditional pole tent simply wouldn't work. They can also be set up directly against a building, making them a seamless extension of an existing structure.

Frame Tent Sizes Available

We offer frame tents in the following sizes to accommodate events of all scales:

  • 30x30 — 900 square feet. Great for smaller gatherings, cocktail hours, or events with 60–80 guests using a banquet layout.
  • 30x45 — 1,350 square feet. A popular mid-size option, comfortably fitting 100–120 guests with room for a dance floor or buffet.
  • 30x60 — 1,800 square feet. Our largest frame tent configuration, ideal for weddings, large receptions, and corporate events with 150+ guests.
  • 40x40
  • 40x60
  • 40x80
  • 40x100
  • Frame Tent (size expands in 20ft length sections). For example 40x60 tent, or 40x100 tent.

Our frame tents are available in 15-foot increments up to 60 feet in length, so if your event falls somewhere in between, we can work with you to find the right fit. Not sure what size you need? A general rule of thumb is to allow approximately 10–12 square feet per guest for a seated banquet layout, or 6–8 square feet per guest if you're doing a standing cocktail-style event. Our team is happy to help you work through the numbers during your free estimate.

Perfect for Any Outdoor Surface

One of the biggest advantages of a frame tent over other tent styles is its ability to go where other tents can't. Because they're freestanding and don't rely on ground stakes for structural support, frame tents can be set up on:

  • Grass and open lawn
  • Concrete and asphalt
  • Patios and hardscaping
  • Gravel driveways
  • Decks and event venue surfaces

This makes them an extremely popular choice for venues with limited staking options, HOA-restricted properties, or any event where you need maximum flexibility on placement.

A tent is just the beginning. Tri-County Tent Rentals can outfit your frame tent with everything you need to create the event atmosphere you're envisioning:

  • Tables and chairs — We carry banquet tables, farm tables, round tables, folding chairs, chiavari chairs, and more.
  • Linens — Dress your tables with the colors and styles that match your event.
  • Heating and cooling — Keep your guests comfortable no matter what the weather does.
  • Generators — Power your lighting, catering equipment, and sound system without relying on a nearby outlet.

Frequently Asked Questions About Frame Tent Rentals

  • How much space do I need for a 30x30 frame tent?

The tent itself is 30x30, but you'll want to allow a few extra feet on all sides for the frame structure and any staking or ballasting used to anchor it. Plan for a clear area of at least 35x35 to be safe. Our team will assess your space during the free on-site estimate to make sure everything fits comfortably.

  • Can a frame tent be set up on my driveway or patio?

Yes — this is one of the biggest advantages of a frame tent. Because they're freestanding and don't require ground stakes, frame tents can be set up on concrete, asphalt, gravel, pavers, and other hard surfaces where a pole tent wouldn't work. We use ballasting weights to anchor the tent securely on hard surfaces.

  • What's the difference between a frame tent and a pole tent?

A pole tent uses center poles and guy wires staked into the ground to create its signature peaked roofline. A frame tent uses an internal aluminum frame with no center poles, giving you a completely open interior and the ability to set up on hard surfaces. Pole tents tend to have a more classic look; frame tents offer more interior flexibility.

  • How many people fit in each frame tent size?

    As a general guide:

30x30 — seats approximately 60–80 guests banquet style

30x45 — seats approximately 100–120 guests banquet style

30x60 — seats approximately 150–180 guests banquet style

Keep in mind that adding a dance floor, buffet tables, or a bar will reduce the guest count. We're happy to help you plan your layout during the estimate.

  • Can I add sidewalls to my frame tent?

Absolutely. Sidewalls are a popular add-on, especially for evening events, cooler weather, or venues where wind is a factor. We offer solid white sidewalls for full enclosure and clear sidewalls that let in natural light while still protecting from wind and rain. You can enclose all sides or just one or two — whatever works best for your layout and comfort.

  • Do you set up the tent or do I have to?

We handle everything. Tri-County Tent Rentals delivers, sets up, and tears down your tent — you don't lift a finger. Our owner is present at every setup to make sure everything is done correctly and safely.

  • How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible, especially for spring and summer weekends. Wedding season in particular fills up fast and we recommend booking several months in advance to guarantee your date. Contact us today for a free estimate and to check availability.

  • What if the weather is bad on my event day?

Our frame tents are engineered to handle real outdoor conditions including wind and rain. Adding sidewalls provides additional protection from the elements. We also offer heating and cooling rentals to keep your guests comfortable regardless of temperature. If you have concerns about a specific weather forecast leading up to your event, give us a call — we're always happy to talk through your options.
